Director Kim Beamish studied Digital Arts at the Australian National University and worked within the film and television industry in Canberra and Melbourne. In 2006 his one-hour documentary, JUST PUNISHMENT, about the execution of Van Nguyen in Singapore for drug smuggling, was instrumental in helping to change the mandatory sentencing laws in that country. In 2015, he began teaching at the University of Canberra and started work on his next feature documentary OYSTER being shot on the south coast of NSW.
