Bernadette Trench-Thiedeman

Bernadette is a filmmaker and animator informed creatively by her practice as an artist, puppeteer and as a theatre practitioner. She was recently awarded a grant by the Hamer Family Fund for the development of her short documentary 'Lurujarri Dreaming'.

Previous film experience includes: Production assistant for 'Gower Street' (short directed by Christopher O'Brien), Production assistant for 'The Queen', (short directed by Jodie Noble) Production Design for 'Verite' (feature directed by Adrian Cabrie), Art Department assistant for 'Three Dollars ' (feature film directed by Robert Connolly). She has received awards and commissions both nationally and internationally for her animation and artwork. As a theatre practitioner Bernadette has written, directed, puppeteered in and designed numerous works.

Bernadette's professional experience also encompasses the facilitation of animation, film, visual and performing arts projects with youth and people who are often marginalized in society, but who have an enormous contribution to make to all creative fields.
