Will McCallum

Dr Will McCallum is a Naarm/Melbourne-based documentary producer and director. His first feature film Waŋgany Mala (2024) was produced over five years in collaboration with Australian First Nations Knowledge Holders in Arnhem Land and Sulawesi sailors and boatbuilders. The film has screened at festivals across Australia, Asia and Europe.

Will has also produced projects for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, universities and various NGOs. He was a producer of "The Earth Above: A Deep Time View of Australia's Epic History" (2023) and directed "The Pioneers: ASEAN Women of 2018", which won the 2018 Asia Public Affairs Award for Diplomatic Engagement .

Prior to producing documentary Will worked in journalism and public affairs. He speaks Mandarin Chinese and is passionate about amplifying stories of Australia-Asia engagement.
