BRUCE & ME

Oren is a documentary filmmaker and a violin teacher. Bruce is an outlaw who has seen the inside of more jails, and owns more fake credit cards and aliases than a Hollywood con man out of the movies.

Oren lives a quiet life by the sea in beautiful Byron Bay, Australia. Bruce is on the road avoiding the law, when he's not in his hideaway in hillbilly country of the southern USA or visiting his girlfriend in Cuba.

Their connection? ­Bruce is Oren's father. Raised in rural Australia and all over the USA, Oren Siedler grew up in two completely different worlds: the first was inhabited by a mother on a spiritual quest, bringing her in contact with Buddhism and the Dalai Lama. The other was on the road with her birth father Bruce.

Bruce & Me is Oren's personal exploration into her troubled and unusual relationship with her smart, charming, white-collar criminal father, an exploration that takes us to the USA, Cuba and Australia.The result is surprisingly familiar – a new twist on the universal themes inherent in adult children wrangling with their aging parents – and is, as such, rewarding and refreshingly funny to watch.
